A number of MacOS users have upgraded their devices to High Sierra for a number of reasons. My conclusion is, therefore, that if your Mac is suffering from any of the symptoms which Apple says could result from incorrect Home folder permissions, repairing Home folder permissions using the sequence recommended by Apple could fix them in Sierra, High Sierra, and later. For some reason apple removed this feature. Apple knows what the persmision for there own files are and it would correct the permissions when run from disk utility. Apple used to provided permission repair in older Mac OS like Yosemite, found in the Disk utility. It is the second most used desktop operating system, after Microsoft Windows.
